Technical Services Engineer
MODA Light is an innovative architectural lighting company and is currently seeking a Technical Services Engineer to join its team. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide the highest quality of customer service and technical support to our business units, sales teams, agent partners, customers and is responsible for responding to customer (internal and external) requests regarding technical questions.
The Technical Services Engineer (TSE) will report to the Technical Services Manager (TSM) and will act in a cross-functional capacity to support the following activities:
-Technical Training and Support
The TSE will assist external partners (specifiers, installation contractors and end-users) in the design, installation, operation and troubleshooting of MODA Light fixtures, controls and accessories. This assistance will include field work at the project site as required.
-Field Startup, Programming and Training
The TSE will perform system startup, programming and training for projects that include MODA Light services. This work will include fixture addressing, control wiring terminations, inspection, programming per project specifications and training for the end-user.
-Pre-Wire Coordination
The TSE will conduct training sessions to familiarize the installer with proper techniques for product installation, wiring and testing. These sessions may be held virtually or on-site as required.
-Product Testing and Analysis
The TSE will support the testing of MODA Light products in the lab and factory. This work will include quality control analysis, RMA inspection reports, prototype evaluation and pre-addressing of products.
-Sample and Mockup Assembly
The TSE will work with marketing, sales and operations to assemble product samples for use in training and trade shows.
-Document Management
The TSE will assist in the creation, evaluation, and management of external and internal documentation.
-Additional Duties as Needed
The TSE is expected to become a subject matter expert in the following areas:
DMX/RDM control networks
0-10V control systems
Phase-control dimming systems
DALI control protocol and networks
TCP/IP network configuration
Head-end control system configuration and programming
Education and Experience Requirements:
-Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology or a related field applicable to the job requirements.
-Bachelor’s degree in technical theatre with an emphasis on lighting controls.
-Equivalent work experience in a professional environment shall also be considered.
-Valid passport, clean driving record and a willingness to travel as needed.
-Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
-Robust troubleshooting skills and techniques.
-Ability to author documentation in a clean and precise manner
-Ability to manage stressful situations in a professional manner.
Job Type: Full Time
-Must be available to work Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4pm.
