Contractor/Distributor Sales Manager

We are seeking a full-time Contractor/Distributor Sales Manager to join our dynamic and growing sales team in central Ohio. The primary responsibilities will be to solicit project bids, negotiate existing projects and consult on design build projects utilizing manufacturer products and services represented by our company. This individual will work with multiple internal departments and manufacturer staff to fully support the sale from inception to completion.
Some of the job duties will include:
Call on accounts on a regular basis for sales and technical support.
Work alongside other sales staff to complete project management.
Possess the ability to present and effectively communicate in-group settings.
Building and maintaining key relationships with project managers, estimators, sales reps and principals of the electrical distributor and electrical contractors.
Coordinate between the electrical distributor, contractor, manufacturer and GBA Quotations, Sales, and Specification teams to provide a complete and competitive bid package.
Demonstrate a sound financial understanding, understand the business drivers and identify opportunities.
Drive the highest level of customer satisfaction by understanding the customers’ challenges and taking on a solution-based approach.
Ensure professional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Create tailored connected lighting solutions that promote energy efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will reside in Central Ohio.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in lighting sales
Demonstrated history of contractor sales and successful business development
Exceptional time management and organizational skills
Software Experience – Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent organizational skills and effective communication skills
Ability to work on multiple projects and manage workload to meet project deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as interact effectively with others.
Ability to Adapt to unexpected changes on projects.
Ability to travel locally a minimum of 4 days per week.
3-5 years’ experience in the Electrical Industry or Industrial Distribution
3-5 years’ experience in a related customer service position
