AFX Wins Awards In 2016 Lighting For Tomorrow Design Competition
September 28, 2016
AFX, Inc. wins a Functional Fixture Award for their Slate Pro LED Task light in the 2016 Lighting for Tomorrow design competition.
"This wonderful product is great in so many ways: efficacy, CRI, even light and crafty switch control (dimming, CCT, step, and gradual). Its slim profile and color range make it really stand out from other, similar products.” -The judges’ remarks regarding AFX's Slate Pro
The Slate Pro utilizes a low-profile, edge-lit LED panel to provide evenly distributed, glare-free light that is ideal for all surfaces. The fixture is available in various lengths ranging from 9” to 40” to accommodate most applications. A single control panel provides convenient access to power, CCT changing (2700K-4000K) and full range dimming. Multiple remote driver options are available, allowing units to be linked in series to meet the needs of your application. The Slate Pro LED Task light will be available in late 2016.
Tim Tevyaw, President of AFX, had this to say about the competition: “We are extremely proud to have been recognized with awards 12 of the 14 years since the inception of Lighting for Tomorrow. Receiving awards this year is an honor which validates our Product Team’s efforts. We find that the competition’s design parameters and performance criteria keep us focused on developing relevant products that bring increasing customer value.”
Receiving an Honorable Mention status under the Functional Fixture Awards Category was AFX’s Carlisle ceiling fixture for Best in Contractor Lighting. This timeless design is available in 12”, 14” or 24” diameters. Lumen packages range from 1200-3100lm, 2700K- 3000K CCT and 84 CRI.
Judges comments include…“An affordable, fashionable LED option with no glare or hotspots that outshines others in this category. The great diffusion and classic look are coupled with energy savings and senior friendly attributes – all at a price point that builders want to see…”
Not to be overlooked, AFX’s Sloane Linear LED ceiling fixture received a Special Recognition Award for “Value” as an example of high quality at a price point similar to less efficient technology. This ultra low profile decorative indoor LED flush mount fixture is designed with state of the art edge lit LED technology allowing for uniform light distribution while maintaining a very low profile. The unique decorative slotted side detail is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Designed for easy single person installation.
“Nice light and smooth design come together in this LED 1×4 replacement…” remark the judges.
