Allscape Donates Landscape Lighting Fixtures To Veterans, 9/11 Memorials
December 25, 2008
Allscape, a manufacturer of high-performance LED and a full range of architectural and landscape lighting solutions, a Philips group brand, has again donated light fixtures, to two separate memorials across the nation.
The first site, ALLSCAPE donated SL-43, http://www.allscape.net/new/sl/sl_43.html and SL-43HPBB in-ground fixtures to the Broomfield, Colorado Community Park honoring victims of the 9/11 attacks. The memorial is believed to be one of the first and most substantial 9/11 memorials anywhere in the country.
The memorial, built with private money and designed and sculpted by noted Albuquerque artist Reynaldo Rivera, is more than half the length of a football field. Park grounds have life-sized bronze sculptures and wall inserts, depicting each site of the attacks, surrounded by juxtaposed flagstone rubble and beautiful landscaping. The site serves as an area of healing and reflection.
SL-43 and SL-43HPBB in-ground fixtures illuminate the sculptures with a low-watt metal halide wall-wash optical assembly, with an internal glare shield that ensures an even light distribution on the bronze artworks. The flagpole is lit using two SL-43 fixtures with low-watt metal halide and a spot optical lens.
Secondly, ALLSCAPE donated light fixtures to a new memorial that honors members, relatives and friends of the Richfield Springs Veterans’ Club that served in any branch of the American armed services during 20th and 21st Century times of conflict.
A central hand-carved memorial stone placed in the center of the monument has one American Flag, and one for each service branch to the sides, mounted on poles. Veterans’ Club members and non-member donors have purchased stones with names and service dates of veterans engraved and placed within the memorial, at ground level.
ALLSCAPE donated outdoor above-ground landscape lighting fixtures that illuminate the monument, engraved stones and service flags without undue brightness or sky glow. The company’s FL-04 http://www.allscape.net/new/fl/fl004.html energy-efficient floodlights were provided at no cost to the Richfield Springs Veterans’ Club in central western New York State, in the Otsego County town of Richfield Springs, outside of Cooperstown. FL-04 aptly met lighting specifications for the memorial for non-yellow, white, aimable light and high all-weather performance with long operating economy and energy savings.
