Control This! 2011 Reports Record Attendance

The second annual CONTROL THIS! 2011 recently held in New York City on Thursday, October 20th, reports record breaking attendance of over 400+attendees.  Hosted by the New York Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society of America (IESNYC), the educational forum on state-of-the-art lighting control systems and energy management technology delivered a full day of accredited educational sessions and a packed exhibit floor of over 40+ exhibitors. 

“We are so pleased with the support and turnout of attendees and sponsors for this year’s event. The diversity of the presenters and the quality of the exhibitors delivered a great learning experience for all who attended,” commented Meg Smith, Event Co-Chair. “The desire for those to educate themselves on the topic of lighting controls systems and innovative energy management technologies is so apparent with the interest we received once again from the design, engineering and lighting community.”

Control This! 2011 featured six accredited educational sessions and the inauguration of “Innovation Place”, a dedicated exhibit area to show case “not-quite ready for market” technologies and innovations. The expanded technology showcase offered lighting designers, architects, specifiers, contractors, educators, and students a unique opportunity to view the industry’s newest  technologies and innovations at more than 40 control manufacturers’ exhibits, while a series of seminars conducted by some of the industry’s leading authorities gave attendees a chance to catch up on the latest advancements. Attendees enjoyed seminars from industry leading professionals including: Steve Mesh, Lighting Consultant and Educator; Gary Meshberg, Director of Sales, Encelium Technology; Dane Sanders and Darcie Chinnis, Clanton Associates; Michael Stiller, Michael Stiller Design; Shoshanna Segal, Luminous Flex; Cheryl Massie, WSP Flack & Kurtz; Pol Pla i Conesa and Susanne Seitinger, MIT Fluid Interfaces. Control This! 2012 will return to the Metropolitan Pavilion on Thursday, October 25th, 2012.
