Cooper Lighting Amplifies Industry Reputation With 18 LED Product Awards

July 08, 2013

Cooper Lighting, a division of diversified power management company Eaton, is reinforcing its industry reputation as a world-class lighting solutions provider by earning a total of 18 awards in a range of renowned industry competitions. In a span of just four months in 2013, the Lighting division earned these notable accolades, which recognize a variety of its innovative, indoor and outdoor light-emitting diode (LED) product solutions.

“These recognitions are a true testament to our employee excellence,” said Mark Eubanks, president, Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Division. “All of our team members strive to develop and deliver innovative products that make a difference to our customers, which is always our number one priority.”

Included in these awards is one of the most prestigious and stringent industry award competitions, the fifth annual Next Generation Luminaries™ (NGL) Solid-State Lighting Design Competition. The competition is designed to recognize and promote excellence in the design of energy efficient LED commercial lighting luminaires. In addition to being honored earlier this year in the outdoor competition, Cooper Lighting received recognition in the indoor competition for two of its innovative lighting solutions – the Corelite JAYLŪM pendant luminaire and the Halo HU20 LED undercabinet system

Both products were selected by the NGL’s industry panel and judged against strict performance standards, which include color quality, appropriate illuminance, light distribution, glare control and energy efficiency to name a few.

The Halo undercabinet product generated additional praise in two other competitions, the 2013 Architectural SSL Product Innovation Awards (PIA) and the 26th annual appliance DESIGN Excellence in Design (EID) Awards. The IRiS P3LED, the world’s first Zhaga complaint downlight luminiare, also garnered recognition in the PIA Awards.

Cooper Lighting earned 11 total awards in this year’s Awards for Design Excellence (ADEX) competition. This impressive feat makes the company the most decorated in the competition since its inception, including the recognition of more than 100 awards over the last 10 years. This year’s platinum, gold and silver award-winning products include energy efficient indoor and outdoor LED product solutions designed to satisfy a range of commercial and residential needs.

Additionally, the Lumark Quadcast was recognized from Buildings magazine as a Top Money-Saving Product, and the McGraw-Edison Galleon was selected as a category winner in the 2013 EC&M: Electrical Construction & Maintenance Product of the Year competition.
