Cooper Lighting Introduces Linear LED Confinement Luminaires

September 27, 2010

Cooper Lighting, a division of Cooper Industries plc (NYSE: CBE), has expanded its Fail-Safe confinement/correctional product line to include two new linear LED surface-mount lighting fixtures, the first of a full line of LED confinement fixtures to be released this year.  Combining maximum-security construction with Cooper’s reliable LED technology, the energy-efficient luminaires (FMSLP and FUSLP) are available in a variety of lumen packages (919 to 4944 lumens) to satisfy multiple needs in correctional facilities and detention centers including inmate cells, psychological wards, secure corridors and general population areas.

Designed for areas where security is imperative, the LED luminaires feature a heavy-duty, durable, one-piece seamless housing, security lensing and tamper-resistant fasteners to maximize impact resistance and prevent contraband concealment and unauthorized fixture penetration.

Possessing comparable lumen output of one, two, and three T8 lamps, the 3” deep x 12” wide surface-mount LED fixtures are available in 2-foot and 4-foot lengths and have a projected average rated life of 50,000 hours at 70% of lamp lumen output. Available in two color temperatures (4000K and 5000K), the luminaires offer superior illumination from a variety of shielding choices including polycarbonate, acrylic and glass.

Cooper Lighting’s rigorous testing of its LED products at the company’s world-class Innovation Center ensures a highly reliable fixture that will deliver years of trouble-free operation. Cooper has made significant investments in talented personnel and state-of-the-art equipment to execute multiple LED design and performance assessments so that every fixture meets its stated long-term performance.
