Cooper Lighting Introduces The McGraw-Edison Galleon LED Luminaire
January 02, 2013
Cooper Lighting, a leader at the forefront of transforming the lighting industry and setting an unmatched standard for innovation and reliability, is pleased to announce the addition of the McGraw-Edison Galleon™ LED luminaire to its line of outdoor LED area, site, and roadway lighting products. Incorporating Cooper’s industry-leading, patented AccuLED Optics™ system, the Galleon luminaire offers a choice of 12 specialized optical distributions, nine lumen packages, and comes standard with a wide array of specification grade design features. The performance and versatility of the Galleon luminaire provides significant energy and maintenance savings, while delivering exceptional value to the end user.
The McGraw-Edison Galleon LED luminaire’s unique optical design allows lumen output and energy consumption to be customized to fulfill the exact lighting needs of the area. Uplight, glare, obtrusive spill light, and overlit hot spots are replaced by uniform, application-tailored illumination for walkways, parking lots, roadways, building areas, and security lighting applications. A choice of 12 specialized optical packages includes four asymmetric, three symmetric, and five spill light eliminator distributions. The AccuLED Optics™ system, which is integrated in Cooper’s Light Square optical configuration, delivers unmatched optical control with maximum light output for the specific task. The Light Squares are also field-adjustable to reorient the distribution in 90-degree increments.
The Galleon luminaire is available in nine scalable lumen packages from 8,000 to more than 40,000 delivered lumens, with H.I.D. equivalents ranging from 150 watts up to 1,000 watts. Available in four sizes with a choice of two to ten LED Light Square configurations, the fixture’s width proportionately increases as the number of Light Squares increase. The luminaire can be mounted to a round or square pole in seven different configurations from a single head to up to four fixtures. The Galleon luminaire comes standard with a 4000K neutral white correlated color temperature (CCT) and a 70 CRI with no sacrifice in lumen performance. Optional 6000K CCT (70 CRI) and 3000K CCT (80 CRI) are also available.
The Galleon LED luminaire offers more than 16 years of reliable service life, based on a 60,000-hour life and 10 hours of daily use; that’s six times longer than traditional metal halide solutions. With efficiencies as high as 95 percent, it provides 30 to 75 percent energy savings when compared to typical H.I.D. luminaires, and is ideal for both new construction and retrofit projects. Virtually maintenance-free, the ultra-efficient and reliable Galleon luminaire is backed with a five-year warranty.
For additional energy savings, an optional occupancy sensor can be integrated to each individual luminaire to reduce light levels and power consumption when the surrounding area is unoccupied. Due to the unique design of the AccuLED Optics™ system, only the intensity of light is reduced and there is no change in the distribution pattern.
Featuring a modern, low profile design, the Galleon luminaire’s high-quality construction is designed to withstand harsh environments. The luminaire’s rugged, die-cast and extruded aluminum construction is
3G vibration rated and comes standard with 10kV dual-mode surge protection. The fixture’s housing and LED Light Squares are IP66 rated and feature a self-cleaning flow-through design. The luminaire is designed to operate in -40oC to 40oC with a high ambient 50oC configuration available.
The Galleon luminaire is on the DesignLightsTM Consortium Qualified Product List, and is eligible for numerous financial incentives to help business customers maximize energy efficiency and manage energy costs.
