Current EBCI Stable In May, Optimism For Next Six Months Retreats From April Peak

NEMA’s Electroindustry Business Conditions Index (EBCI) for current conditions in North America declined to 50 in May, the value typically associated with a stable business environment, down from readings of 66.7 in April and 52.6 in March. The EBCI for future North American conditions continued to signal widespread optimism even though the index retreated from 92.9 in April, a twelve year peak, to 85.3 in May.
