Dave Raposa RIP

January 02, 2017

Our industry lost a great colleague yesterday. After six months of battling heart issues, Dave Raposa passed away quietly in Boston yesterday with his wife and family by his side.

Dave was one of the most engaging and energetic people I have ever worked with. He was a "Work Dad" to me, always voicing his (usually correct) opinions. Dave had old fashioned work habits; get up early, go like hell all day, get up and do it again. Although I tried to get him to retire, there was always a few more years' time and so much to do. Dave mastered the LED transition quickly and understood how important a change this was early on. Dave never said no to an invitation, sales trip or potential opportunity. He was ready for anything and loved life; fishing, golfing, dining out and enjoying the beauty of the Southern Massachusetts coastline.

Still going strong at 73 years is a great accomplishment in itself. What Dave enjoyed most was working with you, our representatives and their customers; holding a presentation in a packed room, showing samples and discussing the industry he knew best: lighting.

Please say a quiet prayer for Dave and his family and know that he is truly at peace now.

No funeral arrangements have been made yet and it may be a family only affair.

Dave served in the Vietnam war and the charity he supported the strongest was the honorflight.org, a group that flies Veterans to Washington DC.

Happy 2017 and thank you for all the support,

Chris Roemlein and the entire Spectrum Lighting Team.
