Power management company Eaton today announced that the company has joined with the NextGen Home Experience® to inspire builders to build the homes of the future today. The 2017 NextGen First to the Future online television series will feature and promote the United States Department of Energy’s (DOE) Zero Energy Ready Home program, which educates and encourages builders to build high performance homes that feature energy savings, comfort, health and durability unparalleled in today’s marketplace.
“We are pleased to again join the NextGen Home Experience in demonstrating the technologies currently available to build single- or multi-family homes that help increase safety and security, reduce energy costs and save time and money,” said Brad Paine, vice president and general manager, Eaton’s Lighting Division. “The Zero Energy Ready Home program helps homeowners maximize these important investments and we are glad to be a part of the program with our energy-efficient lighting solutions.”
As a participant in the NextGen First to the Future national demonstration home in Palm Coast, Florida, Eaton will supply energy-efficient Halo light-emitting diode (LED) recessed downlights to the home featured in the series. The company has also supplied Halo Surface LED Downlights (SLD) to the NextGen Home Experience tiny home project, which will be on display at the 2017 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show (IBS), booth P19, in Orlando, Florida, from January 10 to 12. Halo LED products will also be displayed in the NextGen Home Product Showcase located in booth S1254.
The NextGen Home Experience will be hosting a special VIP media event at the NextGen tiny home (P19) on Tuesday, January 10, beginning at 8 a.m. with special guest Sam Rashkin, chief architect, Building Technologies Program, U.S. DOE. Mr. Rashkin will provide more information on the Zero Energy Ready Home project.
Attendees at IBS can view a broad selection of LED lighting products, as well as Eaton’s other products for residential building, including smart breakers, USB receptacles, generators, switches and sensors, during the show at booth W3490.
