November 18, 2020
Acuity Brands, Inc. (NYSE: AYI) announced today eight architectural lighting luminaires representing the company’s Aculux®, A-Light™, Eureka®, Juno® Luminis®, and Mark Architectural Lighting™ brands were selected as 2020 Product Innovation Award (PIA) winners by Architectural SSL magazine. The PIAs recognize innovative LED and solid-state luminaires and fixtures on the market, while also spotlighting the players behind the components that make up these light sources.
PIA winners include:
Aculux initia™ downlights are a comprehensive family of affordable and elegant 3-inch precision recessed luminaires ideally suited for budget-sensitive projects demanding exceptional cutoff and glare control. This family of round and square recess adjustable, downlighting and wall wash luminaires features superb color consistency and multiple lumen packages (up to 1500 Lumens) in a variety of styles for unparalleled design flexibility.
Aloft luminaires from A-Light™ feature fully articulating elbows and connectors, allowing designers to create unique configurations. By manipulating a horizontal rotation of 200° Aloft can be shaped in countless ways and locked in place to create the desired design. And a 360° rotation joiner enables full control of the direction of the light. Installation and onsite adjustment are simplified with an innovative plug and play connection system that clicks sections together with ease.
Celeste luminaires from Eureka® Lighting are a decorative disc formed from artisanal casted glass. The luminaire features integrated connectors that allow individual heads to be connected vertically, providing the opportunity to create large impactful installations as well as smaller clusters. Available in multiple canopy styles and clear or frosted glass, it can be preconfigured into more than 30 scenarios.
Hollowcore luminaires from Luminis® are a modern take on a classic shape that is suitable for both traditional high bay applications and more contemporary spaces. With a unique circular LED light engine and an open center concept, Hollowcore is designed to optimize and deliver light evenly and where needed. It delivers up to 13,000 lumens of uniform light.
Lily ceiling suspended luminaires from Eureka Lighting are pendant light fixtures with an organic look and an unparalleled versatility. Its die-cast aluminum head provides an aesthetically pleasing and effective solution to the dissipation of the heat from the LED source, while a friction hinge, mounted at the center of the luminaire, allows it to be oriented horizontally and vertically, offering a direct or indirect light distribution at will.
Outline luminaires from Eureka Lighting are ideal for offices, restaurants, or hotels. The luminaire features three different mounting types and a wide variety of head number and arrangement options. With recessed, surface, and suspended iterations, it enables a design theme to be carried throughout a project. Recessed version rotates on magnetic ball joints that the keep the head centered in the housing, preserving symmetry while snapping back to horizontal.
R620L Adjustable Beam Trac head from Juno® is ideal for applications that require a range of spot to flood beam patterns or where the desired beam pattern is unknown at the time of specification/purchase. The R620L Trac head incorporates adjustable beam functionality into a simple and timeless cylindrical aesthetic, and features a proprietary, patented clover-leaf TIR optic and a secondary segmented diffusing lens that enables the beam distribution to be adjusted continuously between 17° and 53° simply by rotating the front bezel.
SLOT 1 linear luminaires from Mark Architectural Lighting™ offer superior optical performance and greater control compared to other linear lighting solutions twice its size. The small form factor luminaires feature exceptional illumination at 90 CRI, as well as a drop lens and edge-view lens options, standard corners and intersections, and three standard finishes. Multiple distribution options include direct batwing, indirect batwing, Lambertian, wall graze and wall wash.
With judging and evaluation of products and systems from a distinguished panel of 22 designers and lighting specialists skilled in product evaluation, the PIA program awards manufacturers based on attributes, qualities, functionality and/or performance beyond industry standards.
