Ephesus LED Solutions Transform The Sports And Entertainment Experience
April 27, 2016
Power management company Eaton’s advanced LED technology and controls solutions are changing the game in sports and entertainment lighting. At LIGHTFAIR International (LFI) 2016, Eaton will showcase how its Ephesus sports lighting and controls portfolio is enhancing the in-arena and television broadcast viewing experience while drastically improving energy efficiency.
“The Rangers recently collaborated with Eaton to bring this state-of-the-art technology to Globe Life Park,” said Rob Matwick, executive vice president, Business Operations for the Texas Rangers. “The system has allowed us to reduce our fixture count and become more energy efficient while improving field lighting for our players, fans and broadcast partners.”
Eaton acquired Ephesus Lighting in November 2015, and has since announced LED lighting and controls installations at a variety of high profile sports venues. Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers, recently installed Ephesus Stadium Pro lights and a DMX control system, which allows the facility operations team to wirelessly control the lights, tune the color temperature and entertain fans with exciting lighting scenes. The system also provides energy savings of over 60 percent compared to the facility’s previous lighting. The team’s broadcast partners have also found no flicker and no video loss, while allowing cameras to gain better depth of field. Click here to view highlights from the project.

Eaton’s Ephesus Lighting business continues in the tradition of innovation and deploying industry-first technologies in sports and entertainment lighting systems, such as those first seen at the University of Phoenix Stadium (Arizona Cardinals); the Canadian Tire Centre (Ottawa Senators); Bridgestone Arena (Nashville Predators) and many more. Additionally, Sun Life Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins, and U.S. Bank Stadium, the future home of the Minnesota Vikings, are both installing Eaton’s Ephesus systems during the off-season.
“The addition of the Ephesus lighting and controls system has strengthened our offering, making Eaton the only lighting manufacturer able to provide full power management solutions from parking lot to playing field,” said Kraig Kasler, president, Eaton’s Lighting Division. “Our advanced sports and entertainment lighting and controls capabilities are improving the entire viewing experience.”
