LEDucation Offers The Largest Number Of CEU Educational Sessions In Its Nine Year History

January 20, 2015

The Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY) is proud to announce a record number of educational sessions will be offered during LEDucation 9 for continuing educational credits (CEUs). As the premier lighting event dedicated to advancing the education of the lighting community, LEDucation 9 will offer a selection of 17 informative sessions that cover various aspects of LED lighting, design, controls and technology integration and application.

“Due to the overwhelming success and attendance of our past educational sessions, LEDucation has doubled our session offerings with 17 new course offerings.  We wanted to provide our returning attendees with a broader spectrum of choices to select from, yet still offer introductory sessions for our new attendees or those that want to learn the basics,” commented Speaker Chair, Wendy Kaplan of Feelux Lighting.  “With the addition of these new sessions, LEDucation attendees now have more options that ever to choose from over the two day event.  We are proud to have attracted some of the industries most accomplished and well-known industry experts to share their expertise with sessions spanning controls, design, technology, application and innovation. “

The ninth annual event is scheduled to take place in New York City on March 5th & 6th, 2015 at the Sheraton NY Times Square hotel.  Special sessions and events have been designed to meet the needs of specific industry areas such as Interior Design and Controls.  The opening CEU session on Thursday and Friday morning are both designed specifically to meet the needs of the Interior Designer, Architect and Student.  These sessions offer attendees the opportunity to become more familiar and comfortable with the new LED technologies and controls; and to learn the basic terminology, light sources, how to evaluate a sample, and write a specification. Directly following these morning sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in small group Docent Tours of the LEDucation Expo with a dedicated guide available to answer specific questions regarding the technologies.

“Mission Control” is a new addition to LEDucation’s educational agenda and offers all attendees the opportunity to interact with state-of –art Controls technologies. A variety of interactive plug and play displays will be available in a dedicated “Mission Control” room for attendees to learn first hand about the latest updates and integration of LED and controls technologies. Experts will be present to provide support and answers to some frequently asked questions in utilizing controls with SSL technologies. Admission to this special area is included in your EXPO show floor pass.

The annual educational expo, hosted by the DLFNY, is one of the industries longest running events dedicated solely to LED Technology. It attracts record crowds each year with an attendance of over 3,200 in 2014. All sessions are eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEU) and are scheduled starting at 9:00 am each day. Access to all CEU Sessions is available for $50 or Individual Sessions can be purchased for $ 10 per session.  EXPO Passes to view the latest LED luminaires, controls and energy efficient designs and advancements from over 220+ leading LED manufacturers may be purchased for $25 or are FREE for all DLFNY and IESNA Members with advanced registration. Students are also encouraged to attend as a complimentary guest with a valid ID.  For a complete listing of exhibitors and a detailed schedule, log on to www.leducation.org
