LightFair International Will Take Place In Philadelphia For 2013 Trade Show And Conference
November 19, 2011
The 2013 edition of LIGHTFAIR® International (LFI), the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, will take place April 23-25, 2013 in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Staged alternately annually on the West Coast and the East Coast, LFI returns to Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Convention Center in 2013 following a record-breaking 2011 performance marked by the highest attendee satisfaction scores in the show’s 22-year history. In independent studies conducted by the research firm Moore & Symons, those attending LFI 2011 in Philadelphia gave the show top scores in product quality, depth and selection; new product introductions; educational and network offerings; and the overall event experience. The Pennsylvania Convention Center received high marks for ease of access, convenience, availability of on-site and adjacent food services, and other key advantages.
The Pennsylvania Convention Center affords LFI 2013 exhibitors and attendees a venue well-suited to the unique requirements of its Conference and Trade Show, which in the 2011 Philadelphia event saw more than 23,000 registered attendees. The Pennsylvania Convention Center encompasses more than one million square feet of exhibit hall facilities, creating the largest contiguous exhibit space in the Northeast.
“With customer satisfaction levels reaching historic highs in the record-breaking 2011 showing, LIGHTFAIR’s 2013 return to Philadelphia sets a new stage for continuing growth,” notes Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr., president and chief operating officer of LFI managing partner AMC, Inc. “It’s a natural response to preferences clearly voiced by LFI attendees and offers LFI exhibitors a staging venue unmatched in size, scale and potential,” Portman adds.
In further study conducted by Moore & Symons, LFI exhibitors say they are ready to return to Philadelphia in 2013, where Pennsylvania Convention Center Halls A—E will host what is projected to be an all-time record showing of the world’s largest annual commercial and architectural lighting event.
“The Pennsylvania Convention Center’s contiguous, single-level exhibit hall, together with easily accessible, affordable hotels and a large variety of on-site and nearby food options were huge factors in LFI’s 2011 success,” notes William Hanley, executive vice president of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES).
As in the LFI 2011 staging, the Pennsylvania Convention Center affords LFI 2013 a unified space in an expansive environment well-suited to the unique demands of the Trade Show and Conference, which collectively occupied more than 200,000 net square feet of space.
“LIGHTFAIR in Philadelphia set the new bar for performance excellence,” adds Marsha Turner, executive vice president of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). “Our return in 2013 will hold us to that new higher standard and promises attendees and exhibitors what we believe will be an incomparable show experience.”
