Lighting Facts Partners Recognized At DOE SSL Workshop

July 21, 2011

Nine Lighting Facts partners were recognized last week at the sixth annual U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solid-State Lighting (SSL) Market Introduction Workshop, in Seattle, Washington. The three-day event brought together more than 275 utilities, energy efficiency program representatives, manufacturers, and other industry insiders and observers interested in keeping up to date on the latest SSL commercialization developments.

According to Dr. James Brodrick, DOE’s Lighting Program Manager, the honorees exemplify how integrating the Lighting Facts program into their everyday business practices can help ensure that quality SSL products are available. “Representing the retailers, manufacturers and efficiency program sponsors, these organizations demonstrate a commitment to documenting the performance of the products they manufacture, sell, distribute, or promote. Their efforts help ensure that the products customers buy are well designed and perform as expected.”

Partners were recognized in the following categories:

Retailer and Distributor Partner:

-Lowe’s Companies makes the Lighting Facts testing procedures a requirement for SSL suppliers.

Energy Efficiency Sponsor Partners:

-Efficiency Vermont has been incentivizing quality SSL products since 2009 and was the first partner to register programs on the Lighting Facts Energy Efficiency Partner Resource.
-Sacramento Municipal Utility District consistently uses Lighting Facts while researching LED products and product categories to include in rebate programs.

Special Recognition for Sustained Excellence was given to these companies who have demonstrated their commitment to Lighting Facts two years in a row:
