Lighting Industry Mourns The Passing Of Showroom Sales Rep Jack Melnick

Jack Melnick, well known and highly respected in the home lighting industry, passed away at age 83 on November 3. Head of Jack Melnick Sales in San Rafael, CA, Melnick was very active in the industry he loved and was regarded by hundreds of business associates as a colleague and friend.
He worked in the lighting industry for more than 30 years, up to two weeks before his passing, and represented many national accounts in a territory that covered northern California and Reno.
Melnick leaves his wife Midge, daughter Rachel Botsford, his beloved dog Max and three grandchildren. His son David Melnick pre-deceased him.
“Jack Melnick was a good friend and a true gentleman of the ‘old school’ with an admirable work ethic,” said EJ Phillips, Nora Lighting national sales manager, showroom division.
“He was active every day doing the best job possible with diligence and a genuine warmth. He respected his colleagues in the industry and made life-long
friends. He exemplified what we all hope to become – a sincere friend and a truly good person,” said Phillips.
