Lightovation Debuts New Showrooms and Holds World Premiere of Metaverse Lighting TrendHouse

Lightovation, the largest residential lighting trade event in North America, which took place January 10-14, showcased cutting-edge lighting designs, trends, and technology from manufacturers to designers and industry professionals. Main events at Lightovation included Interior Designer Preview Day, which took place on January 9, and the world premiere of the Metaverse Lighting TrendHouse.

“The winter edition of Lightovation started our year with positive energy,” said Cindy Morris, President and CEO of Dallas Market Center. “We were not only able to celebrate new product launches and exhibitor milestones, but also the premiere of the Metaverse Lighting TrendHouse, which showcased products from numerous manufacturers in an augmented reality trend house.”

The Metaverse Lighting TrendHouse, an immersive activation on the 3rd floor of the Trade Mart, was created in cooperation with Leslie Carothers of Savour Partnership, rendering artist and residential designer Annilee Waterman, and interior designer and retailer Shay Geyer. This immersive 3D experience was viewed by Lightovation attendees both as a 3D virtual individual experience or via the metaverse space experience, where multiple people joined at the same time. The TrendHouse featured virtual representations of lighting, home decor, and technology that reflected the 2024 Lightovation Trend Report. The Metaverse Lighting TrendHouse is available for viewing during April Design Days and the summer edition of Lightovation, June 19-22.

Returning for the second year, the International Pavilion (TM 4909), which showcases lighting manufacturers from around the world, brought in Abilux, which represents several lighting design brands from Brazil which range from contemporary to industrial. The featured brands included exemplars in sustainability Audax, Celera, Conex, FASA, Lalux, Madelustre, Omega, and PDLed. London’s Buster + Punch also showcased their collections of lighting, cabinetry hardware, and accessories.      

New showrooms debuted and inspired attendees with their lighting designs, including Lib&Co (TM 3519), which offers unique and modern designs, and SDQStaunch Lighting (TM 4331), showcasing innovative LED fixtures. There were new showroom openings for former SPECTRUM tenants Lit Living, XO Logic, Spectra, Windward (TM 4931) and Millennium Lighting (TM 3664.)

For the January edition of Lightovation, worldwide company EGLO (TM 4916) expanded their showroom by nearly 2,000 sq, while Vaxcel International Co., debuted their new showroom location (TM 3907), as well as smart ceiling fan and lighting manufacturer, Carro USA (TM 3939). Eurofase (TM 4002) had a new entrance after undergoing major renovations.

Spectrum (TM 4432), the shared showroom for Lighting resources, introduced Aventura Lighting, LUMpure Lighting, Montclair Lighting Works, Our Living Lights, PureEdge Lighting, Premiere Luminaire, and Titanium Technologie.

Retailers from all 50 states and more than a dozen countries attended Lightovation, and more than 150 interior designers attended Interior Designer Preview Day, which took place on January 9th, the day before the show started.

Interior Designer Preview Day

On Tuesday, January 9, the design community was invited for Interior Designer Preview Day to enjoy a sneak peek of the latest lighting trends and special programming which included a Trend Tour that pointed out lighting products from the Lighting Trend Report from award-winning designer Patti Carpenter, a panel discussion on technology and interior design, and a reception celebrating the Lightovation Metaverse TrendHouse.

Style Eyes Trendspotting

Interior designer, products designer, and lifestyle expert Dann Foley of Dann Foley Lifestyle served as the official Style Eyes trendspotter and  discovered new products at Lightovation. The Style Eyes program leverages the knowledge and taste making skills of social media influencers for their insights and discoveries. Special Events

Key events included the Lightovation Opening Night Party, ribbon cuttings for new and expanded showrooms, educational seminars and panel presentations, receptions for ALA’s Women in Lighting and Young Executives groups, and exciting anniversaries for showrooms that ranged from 10 years to 60 year.

The next edition of Lightovation will take place June 19-22, running congruently with the June Total Home & Gift market.
