NEMA Publishes National Standard For Roadway And Area Lighting Equipment
January 30, 2013
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) published ANSI C136.32 American National Standard for Roadway and Area Lighting—Enclosed Setback Luminaires and Directional Floodlights.
ANSI C136.32 covers dimensional, maintenance, and electrical features that permit the interchange of similar enclosed luminaires that have the same light distribution classification or type used in roadway or area lighting equipment. Luminaires covered by this standard are generally yoke-, trunnion-, or tenon-mounted. They are traditionally called floodlights or setback luminaires. This standard has been updated to reflect current industry practices and include new lamp types.
ANSI C136.32 is available in electronic or hardcopy format for $45. To purchase, visit NEMA’s website or contact IHS by phone at 800-854-7179 (within the U.S.) or 303-397-7956 (international), or visit www.global.ihs.com.
