National Geographic Debuts Line Of Energy Efficient Hybrid Outdoor Lighting

May 24, 2009

National Geographic has introduced a new line of energy-efficient outdoor lighting, called the Preserve Our Planet Hybrid Lighting Collection. The collection is available exclusively at LAMPS PLUS, the nation's largest specialty lighting retailer. With green features that enhance the quality of the lamps, the collection offers an eco-friendly solution to outdoor lighting, as it promotes energy conservation, home safety and cost-efficiency.

"National Geographic has a long-term commitment to preserving the world around us," said Krista Newberry, vice president of National Geographic Licensing. "This innovative collection provides consumers with a creative and practical way to reduce their impact on the environment while also saving on electric bills."

Featuring an exclusive patent-pending hybrid design that offers superior energy conservation, the collection combines solar-powered LED lights and electric compact fluorescent lights. Built-in photo cells provide auto on/off dusk-to-dawn operation of the LED lights, lasting up to 50,000 hours. This provides a welcoming glow and enhances home security by creating the impression that someone is always home.

The Hybrid Outdoor Lighting Collection features three design styles: Solar Sierra, available in a rubbed bronze finish; Solar Handford, available in both black and Veranda bronze finishes; and Solaris, available in a black textured finish. Outdoor wall lights, hanging lamps and post mounted lights are available for use around walkways, entry areas, garden patios and driveways.

Products range from $69.99 to $229.99. Lighting fixtures can be purchased online at www.LampsPlus.com/NatGeoHybrid or by calling 800-782-1967.
