May 17, 2010

Holophane launches its new HDX Series luminaires for indoor emergency sign lighting in hazardous and highly corrosive environments. The fixtures are suited to Class I, Division 1, Groups C & D, Zone 1, Groups IIA & IIB; Zone 2, Groups IIA, IIB + H2 & IIC; Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C & D; Class II Division 1 & 2, Groups E, F & G; and Class III hazardous locations.

HDX Series luminaires feature an LED light engine and copper-free cast aluminum enclosure designed to withstand the pressure of internal arc generated explosions without propagating to the hazardous atmosphere. The fixtures include an acrylic lens and are available in wall/pendant or end mount configurations with half-inch NPT conduit entries.

“Holophane HDX luminaires are designed for longevity and reliability with minimal maintenance, which translates into a lower total cost of ownership” said Tamar Williamson, Holophane Product Manager, Indoor. “The fixtures help ensure worker safety in a variety of hazardous and demanding applications—from general manufacturing and automotive plants to government buildings and water treatment facilities.”

HDX luminaires are UL Listed 844 for Hazardous Locations, UL924 for Emergency Lighting. The fixtures are also suitable for wet locations and are listed UL1598A for Marine Outside.
