Next Generation Lighting Industry Alliance Endorses the L-Prize Competition
August 25, 2021
The Next Generation Lighting Industry Alliance (NGLIA) encourages lighting manufacturers to participate in the Department of Energy's Lighting Prize (L-Prize®) competition. The L-Prize® is designed to advance the U.S. clean energy economy for next-generation LED lighting, encouraging innovators and researchers to engage in advanced lighting system development that leads to transformative designs, products, and impact.
"As lighting technologies continue to advance and change, industry leaders assure lighting quality and allow product differentiation in all areas. This competition is a great opportunity for NEMA Members and lighting manufacturers to showcase the full potential that LED technology provides for American businesses and consumers, including energy and cost savings," said Jeremy Yon, NGLIA Chair and Industry Relations Leader at GE Current, a Daintree Company.
The submission deadline for the competition's first phase is November 19, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern. For the full competition details, click here.
NGLIA is an alliance of lighting manufacturers formed to accelerate the development and commercialization of solid state lighting through government-industry partnerships. The National Electrical Manufacturers Association administers it. For more information on NGLIA, visit their website here.
