Schreder Lighting USA Announces 2009 Training Seminars

Schreder Lighting USA General Manager John Camp has announced the firm's 2009 schedule of seminars for lighting specifiers, landscape architects, DOT engineers and executives, later this year.  Schreder Lighting USA, the newest of the 40-plus member Schreder Group G.I.E. located in more than 30 countries on six continents, is marketing the Schreder brand in the fields of Public Lighting, Floodlighting, Tunnel/Transit Lighting, Industrial and Urban Lighting. 

All seminars will be held at the Schreder Lighting facility, which includes a lighting showroom, training center and product applications room.  Located just outside Chicago, the facility is based at 985 Busse Road in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.  Attendance is free but must be arranged by a local Schreder Lighting agent.

On May 14-15th, Schreder Lighting USA will host a Tunnel Lighting Seminar which is designed to provide an advanced understanding of the various and complex aspects of tunnel lighting.  The seminar is ideal for attendees that have a good general knowledge of lighting theory and are currently working or planning to work on a tunnel project.  Subjects include basic theory in accordance with IESNA RP22 and CIE88.   The program will include detailed case studies including types of luminaire value measurements, the Memphis portable reflectometer, tunnel lighting control systems and tunnel lighting products.

One June 4th and 5th, the firm will conduct a Lighting Specifier seminar on "Lighting the Exterior Environment" which is ideal for architects, landscape architects, DOT engineers and executives.  The program that will provide an understanding of the Schréder Group G.I.E, its product range, technological capabilities, global presence and strategy in North America.  David Keith, a renowned lighting consultant with over 20 years experience in design, project management, research and education, will be the guest speaker.

"International Lighting Strategies Reclaiming the Dark Side of Town" is the subject for a seminar on September 24th-25th.  This seminar includes an introduction to the Schréder Group, its worldwide activities and North American initiative.  The program, which will emphasize urban lighting, will cover the Schréder range of luminaires including technological features, reflector designs, light source and controls, as well as the latest technology in LED lighting and OWLET wireless telemanagement.  Leni Schwendinger will be the guest speaker.  She is a distinguished lighting designer known for creating lighting environments that energize architecture, landscape, transportation and transit infrastructures while connecting people to their surroundings.

On October 15th and 16th, Schreder Lighting USA will host a seminar on "Technology for Outdoor Lighting."  This program will include an introduction to the Schréder Group, its worldwide activities and North American initiative, as well as the Schreder range of luminaires, including the latest technology in LED lighting and OWLET wireless telemanagement for innovative exterior lighting.  The guest speaker will be Craig A. Bernecker, Ph.D., FIESNA, LC, the founder of The Lighting Education Institute, an educational initiative focusing on educating lighting and building professionals.  He also directed the lighting education program within the Department of Architectural Engineering at Penn State University and helped it achieve a reputation as one of the premier lighting education programs in the US.
