The 2009 Illuminating Engineering Society Of North America Illumination Awards

The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America ( IES ) has granted seven Awards for Excellence and three Special Citations in the 2009 IES Illumination Awards program. The Awards program recognizes individuals for professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design based on the individual merit of each entry. The Award of Excellence is presented for an exceptional contribution to the art and science of lighting design. The Special Citation recognizes superior elements of a project or, in some instances, the use of lighting as an art form.

Awards were given in the following three categories:

The IES will be honoring the 2009 Illumination Award recipients at the IES Annual Conference in Seattle , WA on November 15 at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel. At the event, the IES will proudly present the awards to the teams of these top ten designs.
