Constructed of intricately cut panels, these self-illuminating towers project compelling patterns of light and shadow onto landscape features and structures.

Jesse Harper, Product Development Technician, was instrumental in evaluating bollard designs. “We created numerous prototypes that projected a variety of patterns. The selection process was challenging since aesthetic preferences are highly subjective. We ended up with two powerful themes – an artistic music-inspired design we call the Scroll Tower, and a nature-based design – the Leaf Tower. Both designs are equally compelling and give choices to all who love music, art, and nature.”

An exclusive feature of these lights is the multi-directional nature of the luminaire. While other bollards project patterns on the ground, VOLT® bollards are the only ones that also project patterns upward. This is accomplished by two internal LED light sources – one under the top cap, the other on the bottom base. Resulting patterns are projected on the ground and on walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.

Harper comments on this multi-directional feature, “Projecting patterns upward as well as downward opens up a whole new range of design possibilities. This means that patterns can be cast onto (and into) garden structures such as gazebos, awnings, and sheds. The bollards would also provide compelling illumination when placed under covered patios or near exterior walls. They may also lend visual interest to surrounding plant material, tree canopies, and statuary. The possibilities are endless.”

Other attributes of these towers are their size and color. There are two heights, 26” and 42”, and two finishes, black and bronze. The taller towers project a wider region of illumination and make a bolder statement in the landscape.
