WattStopper's Making The Connection: A Digital Lighting Management Exceeds Attendance Expectatio
December 21, 2010
WattStopper completed its 8-city Digital Lighting Management (DLM) Roadshow, Making the Connection recently. This event showcased the functionality of DLM lighting controls, within a framework of market drivers, meeting and exceeding energy codes such as ASHRAE 90.1-2010, achieving sustainability goals, and advancing intelligent building operations. The company developed the event in response to market demand in learning about the capabilities of the innovative control offering.
Specifying engineers, electrical contractors, distributors, facility managers, systems integrators, and other lighting and design professionals attended the event, which kicked off with an inaugural session in Philadelphia in mid-October. From there, the roadshow traveled to Seattle, Chicago, New York, Toronto, Minneapolis, and Atlanta, before concluding in Los Angeles in mid-December.
The program featured five modules:
• Market Drivers for Electrical Energy Efficiency, an AIA-accredited module, reviewed and highlighted building energy code requirements, best practices and sequences of operation for ROI, as well as industry trends toward intelligent buildings
• Introduction to DLM provided a concise yet comprehensive overview of the product line, and its capabilities to overcome current design and installation challenges
• Dimming and Daylighting analyzed DLM’s functionality with respect to dimming and daylighting and how these capabilities increase the potential for increased ROI
• Networking and Intelligent Buildings afforded a look at DLM’s robust networking capabilities and how they help achieve true integration with intelligent building operations
• Designing with DLM offered guidance for using DLM in designs and additional design resources
A seasoned team of DLM experts spearheaded the program, including WattStopper’s VP of Market Development, Pete Horton, LEED® AP, Director of Product Marketing Eric Fournier, LEED® AP, Western Regional Sales Manager Charles Knuffke, Product Line Manager Mike Houston, LC, and District Sales Manager Brian Friedel, LEED® AP. Attendees praised the event, commenting the presentation was “very informative with great display of products,” and “Concise yet full of information and very well presented by all.” For more information on DLM, visit www.wattstopper.com/DLM.
