West Side Systems has introduced a new iPhone app to aid in estimating electrical cost reductions in residential or commercial installations. PowerSaver calculates savings for reduced wattage, for reduced daily usage hours, and for replacement of bulbs with lower-wattage, longer-life models. It also estimates the annual electrical energy cost of appliance use based on its Energy Star annual kilowatt-hour ratings.

The iPhone or iPod touch user can enter a local kwh energy cost, and the number of usage days per month for monthly savings calculations. On-screen prompts guide the entry of other values needed for each calculation. A comprehensive guide is built-in, and is also viewable on the product web page at http://pocketlighting.com.
