When Women Succeed, America Succeeds

September 10, 2013

The Seneca Falls Convention, the first women’s rights convention that addressed the status of women in social, economic, and political life was held in 1848.  That was 165 years ago and American women have made huge leaps forward but constrained opportunities continue to challenge women in America.

All politics aside, the purpose of the When Women Succeed, America Succeeds campaign is to enable women to achieve greater economic security, raise wages for women and their families, and allow working parents to support and care for their families.  The Leaders in front of this campaign are Leader Nancy Pelosi and Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro.

As they canvas the nation, these leaders are strengthening and expanding awareness of these issues to promote and ensure women’s success on all platforms in our society.  The campaign recognizes that women entrepreneurs are essential for success in our economic communities.

Penn Globe and Women in the Workforce

The Pennsylvania Globe Gaslight Co. (#Penn Globe) was honored when asked to host the event in Connecticut.  Over 150 attendees, both men and women, gathered on the factory floor for a panel discussion group.  Three women from Connecticut shared their personal stories of struggle and triumph within the workplace.

Leader Pelosi and Congresswoman DeLauro addressed the many issues facing today’s women and families.  By addressing these issues and focusing on enabling women to invest in education and implement comprehensive strategies designed to meet the balance needed between work and family, women succeed and America succeeds.
